The Ill Wind Which Blows No Man to Good

Jews are the canary in the coal mine.

The canary is in distress, the danger is mounting but the world doesn't want to see it anymore than the last time anti-semitism got out of control and a world war erupted.

Here's a little warning ignored by the world news services:

Ireland: Pro-Palestinian protesters attack Israeli ambassador
Dozens of enraged pro-Palestinian protestors attacked Israel's ambassador to Ireland this weekend as he was leaving a university in the city of Galway.

Dr. Zion Evrony, speaking at an open lecture organized by the law school, was first greeted with dozens of shouting protestors waving Palestinian flags. During the speech 20 students attempted to "blow up" the lecture by using an agreed signal and suddenly shouting and waving signs and flags. The protestors were asked to leave the hall.

After the speech and Q&A portion of the 90 minute lecture were over the ambassador exited the hall surrounded by police officers. However as he was leaving the campus grounds several dozen angry protestors attacked his vehicle, pounding their fists against the car and climbing onto the car. No one was arrested.
Although seemingly ignored, there have been abundant warnings coming from Israel that Iran and Syria are rearming Hezbollah. Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas and Fatah have made clear their intentions toward Israel. The common denominator amongst the Islamic world seems to be an irrational hatred of Jews and it is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore Biblical warnings in what seems to be a world turned upside down.

While the French Police beg for assistance against the intifada, a French Officer in Lebanon says that they may have to shoot down Israeli aircraft if they continue flyovers in southern Lebanon. A new generation of leftist anti-Zionists are becoming more vocal and aggressive. In America, the ACLU attacks all things Christian but vigorously defends Islam.

The virulent Jew hatred spewed by the Islamic world and echoed by the self-hating western leftists ought to serve as a warning that an ill wind is blowing.

(Evening Update) Blogger has had some technical problems, during that time the BBC is reporting a significant related story to Whit's important post. I take the liberty to add it
-2164th :

Iran charged over Argentina bomb

The blast was the worst terror attack in Argentina's history. The Iranian government and Lebanese militia group Hezbollah have been formally charged over the 1994 bombing of a Jewish centre in Buenos Aires. Argentine prosecutors are calling for the arrest of former Iranian President Hashemi Rafsanjani and seven others.

Chief prosecutor Alberto Nisman accused the Iranian authorities of directing Hezbollah to carry out the attack.

Hezbollah and Iran both deny that they were involved in the blast, which killed 85 and wounded 300.

The blast, on 18 July 1994, reduced the seven-storey Jewish-Argentine Mutual Association (AMIA) community centre in Buenos Aires to rubble.

Nobody has ever been convicted of the attack, but the current government has said it is determined to secure justice.

The only applicable biblical warning I can find is the one targetted AT the Jews for their irrational hatred of Christians:

    1 Thessalonians 2:

[14] For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:

[15] Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:

[16] Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

  2. The growth of anti-Semitism and the increase in public actions are among the more frightening developments of the time. When politicians can use it to their advantage in political campaigns in Europe, it seems it has gone beyond the number of Muslims which inhabit those countries. When our Secretary of State speaks out for Palestine at the expense of Israel, I fear a shift in American policy that should be halted. Wonder how many Jews were comforted when Rice spoke of the humiliation of the Palestinians by Israel? The Palestinians have shown themselves incapable of building a socity or state and serve little purpose than an excuse to stir anti-Semitism. None of the Arab countries offer help. The leader of Lebonon still speaks of the right of return. Mark Steyn pointed out the other day that the average age in Palestine is 15.8 years. I may be the only one in the world not to know that, but it explains a great deal about their behavior. Steyn also pointed out when he was on the radio in the U.K. he knew never to mention Israel.

How long does it take for it to spread here more than it has?

  3. I think we're pretty immune to this particular disease. The Euros hate Jews for their wealth, and are deathly afraid of the Muzzies.

In America we like wealthy people (we want to be just like them,) and we don't have enough Muzzies to be afraid of them.

  4. I agree with that. You will always have soft prejudices in people but the virulent form of anti-Jewish hatred, which you see in the Islamic world, which unfortunately includes Islamic parts of Europe, is rare and very shocking in the US.

in a previous posting, Ash confronted Allen with the moral equivalency of anti-Islamic hatred rising in the West. Ash did not make a distinction between defense and offense.

  5. The tensions are building again. This time the caution is infiltration into Israel by enough terrorists to "swarm" the country.
Mossad is well aware. The Israeli government is aware as is the United States. There is no more elasticity in the system, it is now life or death.
Israel will not go the path of silent slaughter. If she dies she will conflagrate, with cause, the capitals of the Middle East.
Islam must be stopped by the US. We must,if our country stands for anything, bomb Iran mercilessly.
It will not solve the problem because it alone will not wipe out Islam. But it will slow the rate at which we approach a full nuclear war in the region.
Cooler heads will not prevail. The Islamists have never had that capacity because it defies the sword of Islam in it's quest for the Jews head. Moslems MUST be killed by the millions, vaporized.
Mohammad set the path against ALL non Muslims and throughout history Islam has been at war with ALL non believers.
    Kill them, kill them all.

  13. The historical relationship between the "Euros" and Jews living therein is a tad more complicated than just "envy" for the latter.

I think I summarized the history of anti-semitism, Christianity, and Europe--and how they relate to one another--in a post in the past; and don't have the time to repeat myself here and now.

Let's just say that as much as one would like to blame Muslims alone, almost equal blame must be put upon Christianity for creating, spreading and supporting anti-Semitism. Both in written word and in actions undertaken.

From Christianity did Europeans also learn anti-Semitism. Post second world war period has been the most pro-Jewish period of all times in Europe--also the most secular.

What comes to envy: People have the habit of being envy now and then. But I have never personally witnessed any kind of envy towards Jews living here. People's attitudes towards Jews are as neutral as could be. If Jews were "hated", they would not get voted to the Parliament, would not work in visible posts in national media etc. Of other places I can say nothing, though, except that many leftist Euro politicians are playing with the anti-Israel card. Israelis themselves don't seem to care: They could not bother less to explain what they are doing, why, and who started it. The Muslims? I here said earlier that they cannot accomplish nothing meaningful, but I must add that they do know how to manipulate the media, and western news agencies. Not only how to throw stones at armored vehicles.

So, go figure. People believe in what they see and here often enough. You can ALWAYS count on the stone throwers to press their truth upon the media.

I personally couldn't take part in a pro-Israel demonstration back in the summer, as I don't happen to live in the capital city. I'm sure there were also pro-Israel demonstration in the USA, certainly there had to be, but I also saw (on news) huge pro-Hezbollah demonstrations in the USA. And when they interviewed those college students... Jesus Christ, they spoke like neo-Nazis, calling death upon Israel and hailing Hezbollah and solidarity for Palestinians and what ever other crap... I don't remember any more.

It is good if Americans are not envy for wealthier, more successful, harder working people. Immunity for this is great. It has not always been like that, though, as the history of Japanese in the USA shows. Or the historical (luckily passed?) fear of allowing the black kids to have the same chances than white kids in their lives. Or adults, for that matter.

There are not all that many Muslims in the States, I guess. And their "distribution" (don't know better word out of my head) amongst the regions of Europe varies greatly: Not all of Europe is densely populated by Muslims. Far from it. Very few Euros are afraid of Muslims, unlike some seem to believe. Awareness of these issues is on rise, though; but how, if at all, it will actually materialize, no one knows.

But should the number of Muslims increase in the USA as well, what could it lead into? If they erected communities alike to those of the Chinese, Mexicans, Italians etc.--areas unofficially reigned under Sharia by the elders: miniature societies within a society...

OK I'm running out of time here, but there may be more Muslims in the States also in the future.

  17. I've read tp's thoughts on Kudlow's blog. Finland has no minorities, and he is good at pointing out our past mistakes. His error is to think the same conditions still exist here and a concern with trailor park trash. It is the future that is my concern.
